Introducing #EmpowerRefugees

We are on a mission to empower refugees by offering solar energy training. A series of installations will benefit low income families in El Cajon and the San Diego area. The first installation was part of GRID Alternatives’ Solarthon and served as the first hands on training. The free system is benefiting a low-income Somali/Kenyan refugee family will provide around $17,000 in lifetime savings, will offset 58 tons of greenhouse gas emissions which is equivalent to planting 764 trees. The second system will be installed on World Refugee Day June 20th with GRID Alternatives and will be 2.64 kW that will provide over $24,000 in lifetime savings and offset 51 tons of greenhouse gas emissions which is equivalent of planting 1,176 trees.

#EmpowerRefugees initiative will help prepare recently resettled refugees for the jobs of the future while providing free solar systems to low income families. Your support will help our new neighbors get on their feet and get on the roof!

#EmpowerRefugees initiative is in partnership with GRID Alternatives the leading solar non-profit. Refugee youth trainees will go thru the paid 240-hour training program and will also earn CPR/First Aid and OSHA 10 certificates.
